Founded in 1981, CIDRE is dedicated to providing financial services and executing development research projects with an integrated approach that includes social and environmental management. The institution focuses on serving small agricultural producers and micro and small enterprises, particularly in rural areas of Bolivia.

CIDRE operates as one of nine licensed development finance institutions (IFDs) in Bolivia, regulated by the Autoridad de Supervisión del Sistema Financiero (ASFI). With over 21,000 clients and 29 service points across the country, CIDRE reaches more than 230 municipalities throughout Bolivia.
