Benarty and Lochgelly Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial co-operative serving the former mining communities of Central Fife, Scotland. As the oldest credit union in Fife, it provides accessible savings and affordable loans to members residing in the Benarty and Lochgelly area.
The credit union is owned and controlled by its members, operating with a community-focused mission to serve an area affected by high unemployment and multiple deprivation. With over 2,000 members from a catchment population of approximately 17,000, it offers a local alternative to mainstream banking and high-cost lenders.
