About Credit Suisse (Moscow) in Russia
Credit Suisse (Moscow), formally known as JSC Bank Credit Suisse (Moscow), is the Russian subsidiary of the former global Swiss banking giant Credit Suisse Group AG. As a universal bank operating in Russia, it provided a comprehensive range of financial services including investment banking, private banking, wealth management, and asset management to corporate, institutional, governmental, and private clients. The bank held a general banking license from the Central Bank of Russia (license number 2494) and was a participant in Russia's deposit insurance system.
Credit Suisse (Moscow) was one of the first foreign banks to establish a significant presence in the Russian market. Following Credit Suisse's acquisition by UBS in March 2023, the bank operates under complex circumstances as UBS inherited its Russian operations and related assets.
