About Sicredi in Brazil
Sicredi is Brazil's first cooperative financial institution and one of the largest cooperative banking systems in Latin America. Operating as a member-owned credit cooperative system (Sistema de Crédito Cooperativo), Sicredi serves over 9 million members across all 26 Brazilian states and the Federal District through more than 2,900 branches distributed among over 100 individual cooperatives.
The institution is structured as a three-tier cooperative network comprising individual cooperatives at the base level, five regional Centrals (Central Offices) at the secondary level, and a Confederation and Cooperative Bank (Banco Cooperativo Sicredi S.A.) at the tertiary level, alongside specialized subsidiaries for insurance, card administration, and consortium management.
