Sovereign Credit Union is a community-based financial co-operative serving residents and employees of Ayrshire, Arran, and Dumfries & Galloway in Scotland. As a not-for-profit, member-owned institution, the credit union focuses on promoting savings and providing affordable credit to its local community. Operating under the principle of a 'common bond', membership is limited to individuals who live or work within the designated service area.
The credit union is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the Prudential Regulation Authority (Firm Reference Number 213993), ensuring members' savings are protected under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme up to £85,000 per person.
