Mechanics & Farmers Bank (M&F Bank) is a historic African American-owned community bank that has served North Carolina for over a century. With approximately $491 million in assets, the bank operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of M&F Bancorp, Inc. (OTC Pink: MFBP). It is North Carolina's oldest Black-owned bank and one of the most influential African American financial institutions in the state's history.

The bank specializes in commercial lending and provides comprehensive banking services to individuals and businesses across North Carolina's largest urban markets. As a state-chartered commercial bank supervised by the FDIC, M&F Bank is designated as both a Minority Depository Institution (MDI) and a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the U.S. Department of the Treasury—making it the only bank in North Carolina to hold the CDFI designation.
