COOPECAN, which stands for Cooperativa Multiactiva de Ahorro y Crédito, Producción, Consumo y Servicios (Multiactive Cooperative of Savings and Credit, Production, Consumption, and Services). As a Type C cooperative under the Instituto Nacional de Cooperativismo (INCOOP) classification system, COOPECAN is a smaller institution with assets below 5 billion Paraguayan guaraníes. The cooperative is part of Paraguay's extensive network of over 400 savings and credit cooperatives that collectively represent approximately 12% of the country's financial sector.
