About Cooperpak in Brazil
Cooperpak is a mutual credit cooperative (cooperativa de economia e crédito mútuo) exclusively serving employees of Tetra Pak in Brazil. As a specialized financial institution, it operates as a not-for-profit society focused on providing economic assistance, savings services, and loans to its members. The cooperative is regulated and supervised by the Central Bank of Brazil (Banco Central do Brasil).
Cooperpak functions on cooperative principles, where members contribute monthly between 2% and 10% of their base salary to build capital. This pooled capital is then made available for lending among members at attractive interest rates significantly lower than commercial market rates.
